Oh My

Since the last post Lucia has busted out with all sorts of new words, like: wow, oh my!, bike, bath, eggs, Bobby, hot, open, and home. At this rate there will be no way of keeping track but I must say it is nice to have her keeping up her end of the conversation. I always suspected she had a funny way of seeing the world and now I know for sure. Anyway, here are some photos of visiting with the family.

Talking up a storm

It has been so fun lately to hear all the new words Lucia has to say. Suddenly I am realizing that she is really understanding so much of what I say all the time and she will recall things I only told or showed her once in the past next time the subject comes up. 

Some words that she has mastered (with her own pronunciation of course) and says on a regular basis are: mama, milk, agua, cheese, snack, socks, cat, ball, juice, baby, book, hi, duck, nunu (pacifier), sun, moon, flower, more, all done, eyes, dance, sit & off (both usually directed at Niko), side (meaning outside),  bubbles (meaning either bubbles or bubbly water), Nina, Tisha (her 2 favorite friends), night night, bye bye, and "bye bye guys!"

We went to a heck of a pumpkin patch this weekend with aunt Dinah. The Lemos Farm in Half Moon Bay provides much more than just pumpkins the choose from: a petting zoo, train rides, a haunted house and a great soundtrack (see below!)

Last Days of Summer

The big news over here is that Lucia has started to use the potty!! This is really exciting. It has only been a few days and definitely not every time. We have been out and about so much that I haven't even thought to try. But after her first success with number 1 and 2 a few days ago she has started to notify me whenever she is going number 2 (she doesn't call it anything as discreet as "number 2") which is very helpful. If we are anywhere near the potty I can shuttle her over in time. It may be concerning how very happy this is making me. I think I need more excitement in my life.

Good Eats

I'm glad I spent 4 years in Costa Rica learning how to make Lucia the perfect gallo pinto, which she is seen enjoying here. Please take special notice of the newly acquired spoon skills.


For obvious reasons I haven't had time to create much of a garden this year, as in years past but I did manage to grow a few edibles. Here we have the very first tomato of the season! Delicious.

The Little Farm

Chelsa and I took Lucia to the Little Farm this weekend. It's a sweet little place in Tilden park where we can observe and learn about farm animals. There are the sheep..
